God Met Me In Cuba

In the Spring of 2024, I had the opportunity to join an AIA spring break trip to Cuba. We served alongside Cru and AIA staff to provide clean water, run church festivals for kids, and play sports at an orphanage. The Lord used this trip to impact my life in three ways.

One, I met my wife! This isn’t a guarantee, but it’s possible! It is amazing to look back on that trip and see the way God worked it out for us to serve on a trip as the start of our journey together.

Two, I gained a new perspective on material things. So many luxuries I take for granted are not easy to come by in other places. Everyone on the trip was impacted in this way as well.

Third, it reaffirmed my call to ministry. For a long time, I was set on a path toward ministry in some capacity. But before this trip, that resolve had wavered. The way God met me there, and the wisdom of the staff leading the trip, helped redirect my steps back to pursuing vocational ministry.

I am forever thankful for the opportunity to visit Cuba with the people on our team. The Lord worked so powerfully in my life through this trip, and I can truly say my life was changed.
