Strive Together
Going to Ultimate Training was not only a step forward in my faith in the Lord, but also a leap outside of my comfort zone as I learned to trust my own mental and physical strength. Throughout the week at UTC, I discovered how to integrate prayer into competition, how to lead others through Christ even in moments of pressure, and most importantly, what it truly means to Let Go and Let God.
As the week went on and we practiced the five principles in every challenge, everything built up to the hardest mental and physical test of my life: The S.P.E.C.I.A.L. This was the moment when all training was put into action and the only thing left to lean on was God—His strength, His guidance, and His presence when my own endurance ran thin. What made the experience even more impactful was the community surrounding me. Students from across the country, once complete strangers, quickly became brothers and sisters in Christ as we pushed through exhaustion and doubt together.
There is something deeply meaningful about suffering, striving, and succeeding alongside people who understand your struggle because they’re living it too. Those bonds don’t fade; they grow into lifelong friendships. I still talk to many of those same individuals daily, united by the moment we believed we had nothing left to give, yet found strength in God and in one another.
Looking back, the bonds I formed, the memories I made, and the lessons I learned will stay with me forever. Taking that leap of faith didn’t just give me an unforgettable experience—it shaped me in ways I will carry for a lifetime, and for that, I am truly grateful.
