Going into UTC I was definitely intimidated especially with the amount of fundraising needed. I was on the fence about signing up and had been praying about this decision. I felt God calling me to be bold in my faith and so that’s exactly what I did. Best decision of my life.
Learning about the 5 principles at UTC was eye-opening. I came in knowing my sport was an idol and wanted to learn more about how to look at my sport as a gift from God instead of something that defines who I am. I came out learning how exhausting that mindset is, and how refreshing it is to give all your struggles and feelings of “not being good enough” up to God. Because we are ALWAYS enough.
The special was insane and taught me so many things, which I won’t spoil for those who want to go. But, I will say there was one point where I was struggling and felt like giving up. However, it was a surreal feeling because at the same time of all this pain, all I felt was peace. I was so grateful to be able to feel pain and work my body and play with God. I am forever grateful for my experience at UTC and the people I met. I could talk about it for hours but instead I want everyone to experience it for themselves ;)
