Trusting in God’s Timing

The AIA spring break mission trip to Turin, Italy, vitally changed how I approached evangelism and how God really is working when we don’t see it. My horizons broadened as we attended a church service in a totally unfamiliar place with people who didn’t speak the same language as me. I met believers with the same zeal and passion for Christ, actively engaged on the other side of the world, who were worshiping the same God miles from my comfort zone. I know God is working everywhere, but to see the work of God through AIA in Italy made me believe it for real!

Our group faced a challenge on our first day when we could not get into the Special Olympics opening ceremonies. Our training prepared us to pray and trust in God’s provision for us, and we tried everything to fix the problem until God provided a new opportunity. We got to be behind the scenes and be the first people to cheer on the athletes before they entered the arena! It was totally unanticipated, and this small moment made me know God always has something better for us!
